About Ally Boats

Aluminium Boats Australia (ABA), or Ally Boats, was founded in 1999 with a passion and drive to build the finest world-class aluminium and composite high performance light craft. Specialising in ferries and leisure craft and using only the highest quality materials and latest construction techniques, ABA has since provided tailored solutions to commercial and private owners alike.

From its state-of-the-art undercover shipyard at Hemmant on the Brisbane River in Queensland, Australia, ABA has produced a wide range of vessels in monohull, Wave Piercing and standard catamaran form, for a diverse range of customers.

The first vessel to appear from the ABA stable was a 10 metre coastal fishing vessel to the order of a professional fisherman in Queensland’s Harvey Bay. Since then, the company has steadily expanded to offer a range of solutions to the commercial and leisure sector alike.

In 2002 ABA built two 15 metre catamarans for Bay Islands Taxi Service on Russell Island, east of Brisbane. It was the beginning of a relationship which saw a number of vessels delivered to Bay Islands Transit Services over the following years including the iconic 24 metre Eco-Jet ferries so essential to the Islands’ community.

In October 2003 the company launched a 23 metre Wave Piercing Catamaran yacht, ocean capable with a 10000 nm range.

A 22 metre Wave Piercing Catamaran passenger ferry for Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort on Moreton Island was launched in September 2004, while the following year saw delivery to Haba Dive of Haba, a 28 metre vessel further extending ABA’s experience with Wave Piercing technology
